1. According to the torque, push-pull force and allowable minimum curvature radius of the drilling rig, select the drill pipe with the appropriate specification and model.
2. Avoid connecting large diameter drill pipes with small diameter drill pipes during construction (that is, mixed use of large and small drill pipes) to prevent small drill pipes from being broken or deformed due to insufficient strength.
3. When clamping the drill pipe with a vise, do not clamp the female buckle part of the female joint to prevent the female buckle from being clamped and deformed.
4. Pay attention to the make-up pre-tightening force should be controlled within 15MPa when assembling the drill pipe to prevent the difficulty of breaking out due to excessive pressure. Avoid using fire to roast the mechanical properties of the joints (especially the female joints) to affect the service life. The non-pretightened threaded connection swings, and the threads grind the tops of the teeth together, and ridges are formed on the side, resulting in thread damage or sticking. If there is no pre-tightening and the step of the box buckle is not pressed tightly, the fatigue of the pin joint screw will be broken. Under the action of high-pressure liquid flow, the box joint will be pierced, resulting in piercing corrosion, which will easily lead to longitudinal cracking of the box joint.
5. Note that before installing the drill pipe, clean the pin and box, and apply thread oil (you can’t use other waste oil or inferior pressure oil for thread oil to prevent premature wear or damage of the pin and box.
6. Pay attention to clean the waterway hole before installing the drill pipe to prevent debris from blocking the channel and causing the mud system to hold pressure.
7. Be careful not to forcibly buckle up. When buckling, the male buckle cannot impact the shoulder and thread of the female buckle, and ensure the centering of the male and female joints. Ensure the coaxiality of the drill and the main shaft of the power head.
8. Pay attention to check the wear of each part of the drill pipe, and find out the reason for abnormal wear in time:
1) Determine whether the drill pipe is scratched by sharp hard substances in the hole
2) When the scratch marks on the drill pipe body are about 1mm deep and more than one turn in a spiral shape, please use it with caution. Prevent the drill pipe from being caused greater loss during construction.
9. Pay attention to the damage of the short connection type of the drill collar (wrong connection, random connection, severe wear, etc.), and it should be replaced in time to avoid damage to the drill pipe thread.
10. Pay attention to hoisting, and avoid impacting and damaging the male buckle when handling the drill pipe.
11. Pay attention to avoid mixing drill pipes of different button types, even if they are not produced by the same manufacturer, do not mix them (because of the differences in drilling parameters, processing methods, props used, and mechanical equipment of each manufacturer, the tolerance and tightness of the processed drill pipes are different. distances must be different); new and old drill pipes with a large difference in wear and tear should not be mixed to avoid construction hazards.
12. It is found that the drill pipe button has local small-scale damage (about 1-2 buttons, button length 10mm), and it should be repaired in time before use.
13. Use qualified zinc-based thread grease, butter is not suitable for use as thread thread oil. Insufficient thread grease will damage the production point of the shoulder of the joint, and easily "loosen" the threaded connection, resulting in thread damage. If thread compound is not used or unqualified thread compound is used, the threaded surface will be closed, resulting in sticking phenomenon.
