Various protective facilities and safety devices should be complete and intact, and reliable protective covers or protective railings should be installed on exposed rotating parts. Horizontal Directional Drilling Machine should be installed firmly and horizontally. The drive wheels should be aligned vertically and parallel horizontally, and the drive shaft and drive wheels should be kept horizontal. Electrical equipment should be installed in a dry, clean and well-ventilated place. When installing the drilling rig, the tangent point of the front wheel of the derrick crown, the center of the vertical shaft of the drilling rig and the center of the drilling hole should be in a straight line.

When building the airport foundation on the hillside, when the rock is firm and stable, the slope should be less than 80°; when the ground is loose and unstable, the slope should be less than 45°. The airport foundation shall meet the requirement that the horizontal distance from the edge of the borehole to the underground cable line is greater than 5m, and the horizontal distance from the underground communication cables, structures, pipelines, etc. shall be greater than 2m. There should be drainage measures around the airport. When construction is carried out in valleys, river ditches, low-lying areas or during rainy seasons, dams or flood control facilities should be built on the airport foundation.

When the machine is rotating, it is forbidden to scrub, disassemble and repair the machine parts; it is forbidden to cross the transmission belt, the rotating part or pass objects from above it; it is forbidden to wear gloves to hang the belt or wax; Before drilling, the equipment, safety protection measures and facilities should be inspected and accepted. When reaming, sweeping off cores, sweeping holes, or drilling in karst caves or loose and complex strata, it should be operated by the machine team leader or skilled technicians.
